VinylStudio
VinylStudio is PC software designed specifically to digitize vinyl albums and tapes. It can:
* record your albums
* split them into tracks
* remove clicks, hiss and hum
* burn CDs
* copy tracks to your MP3 player or iPod
* organise your music collection
It can also look up track listings over the Internet. In short, VinylStudio does everything you need to
digitize your records and tapes, saves you time and helps keep your disk tidy.
VinylStudio can now record 78's on turntables with no 78 RPM speed setting and can now handle opera boxed sets.
Ease of use: VinylStudio is quick to learn and easy to use. 'Rollovers' provide handy cues for new users, while shortcut
keys speed things up as you gain experience.
Almost all operations in VinylStudio can be undone (and redone), making VinylStudio a productive and forgiving
working environment.
2.90 MB
Only $29.95 System Requirements:
Windows 98/ME/NT/2000/XP/Vista
75MB disk space per album
Pentium 500Mhz
64 MB RAM
Sound card
Convenience: If you are thinking of using a collection of separate programs for this task, you might like to reconsider;
it's hard work, and can leave hundreds of large audio files scattered across your hard disk. VinylStudio
organises your collection by artist and album title and its easy to use track-splitting functions, cleanup
tools and CD burning feaures save you a lot of disk space.
Powerful tools: VinylStudio is very effective at removing clicks and scratches from your recordings and has a
complete set of hiss, hum and rumble filters plus a graphic equaliser.
The filters and equaliser work in 'real time' - i.e. you can adjust the settings and hear the results while the music
is still playing. And if your recordings are really badly damaged, you might appreciate our unique Patch feature.

Lookup Track Listings
This screenshot shows how albums are looked up online, which is the first step in the recording process.
For each album matching the artist and title entered, the album cover and track listing are displayed and
you can then add the best match to your collection. As you can see, you don't have to enter the artist or
album precisely.

Record your Albums
This is VinylStudio's recording window, shown with a recording in progress. You can record to MP3 format
(to conserve disk space) or WAV format (for best audio quality) and convert between the two, and you can
continue to work in VinylStudio while a recording is in progress.
Albums are recorded a side at a time before being cleaned up (if necessary) and split up into tracks
(see following screenshots). Recording starts when the needle is lowered and stops automatically at
the end of the record; you can also set a maximum recording time, which can be handy when recording cassette tapes.

Split your Recordings into Tracks
This is VinylStudio's 'split tracks' window. Drag the markers in the waveform display to define the approximate
track boundaries and then zoom in to adjust them precisely or to fade tracks in or out. There is also a Scan
facility which searches for gaps between tracks and you can edit the track names in this window.

Cleanup Audio

* Fast! scans a typical LP side in under a minute on a modern PC
* Option to repair clicks manually
* Unique Percussion and Brass Protection features safeguard the fidelity of your recordings
* Patch or cut out severe scratches and droputs

Burn to CD
This screenshot shows VinylStudio's CD burning window. Just drag the tracks or albums that you want to write
to CD to the right-hand pane and click Burn. Both Audio and MP3 CD's can be created, regardless of which
format you record to, and there is no need to copy tracks out to separate files first which can save a lot of disk space.

|
Copy Tracks to your MP3 Player
VinylStudio can generate MP3 files for each of your tracks automatically - even if you record to WAV format -
and offers a drag-and-drop interface to copy them to your MP3 player. You can also delete files from your
MP3 player in this window.
The MP3 files generated are tagged with Artist, Album Title and Track Title, so these should show up on
your MP3 player's display (and also in Windows Media Player).
